Sup guys, been a while since I posted.Hope everyone is doing well, hi to all new members.I was wondering if anyone knew of a corrolation between movies and google spidering.I.E. I was wondering if you were optimizing a page for google for "plane videos" if you had a flying_plane.mpg linked up on that page if you would have an advantage... Thanks WILLI don't believe Google does anything with *.mpg files ... The href is likely dropped as an unrecognized file type, so you don't even get the benefit of using a keyword in the file name. However, you might still get some advantage if you include an alt tag.isn't google beta testing a media search? If im right (im sure i heard it somewhere) then having the keyword in the filename will give u an advantage yes.Treat the link text to the video as very important and also if the link to the video is an image then as well as the ALT text place relevant keywords into a little description under the image.I'm sure when Google eventually includes a video search that it will operate very similar to the image search they have now.Quote:Someday ... maybe ... might ... I am sure Google has plans to index every file type and format available now and in the future. But MPEG files are likely not indexed and of no benefit right now. I agree with gardenstew link text, alt text, and surrounding text is probably more important than the file name.
