Considering Google has the best PR around - in theory any clicks to your website from Google should boost up your PR? I guess it doesn't work this way though does it?If i understand correctly, it's the links on other pages themselves (and the quality of those pages) that lead to your site rather than clicks on them. Google wouldn't have any way of knowing how many times someone clicks on a link their spider has found on someone else's site.If Google wanted to they could use something like the exit.cgi here at Ozzu to see how many people are clicking on links on their serps pages, but I don't think that would be all that useful since sites that were on the first few pages of results are going to get the bullk of the clicks pretty much regardless of quality. Whoever started out at the top of the serps would pretty much stay there. On the other hand, sites on the web that are useful - or actively try to get more inbound links - are likely to accumulate more inbound links from pages that themselves have good page rank.Mind you, I'm no google expert, but that's my understanding anyway...Clicks do not mean anything to PR, only links. If you have a link on Google.com, your PR will get a very very nice boost.vetofunk wrote:Sorry, I didnt notice the results had no PR lolNo, not the serps. Yes the homepage, but that will never happen.lolI've seen PR in search results sometimes...so I don't agree. Take a look at this:http://www.google.se/search?q=web+hosti ... l=sv&meta=It shows PR 4 for me.vetofunk wrote:It shows a PR of 0 for me.hmm...are you sure that Google don't mess with the URLbecause of the different language or location?I don't get PR with the .com and english settings for somereason. Anyway, each time someone does what I just did, posting a search URL, the PR for that URL will get higher I guess.Another question. If I advertise with Adwords, will I get PR fromthe pages that show my Adwords ads?vetofunk wrote:Well you should't get PR from adwords ads, but I have heard people noticing that they are. With the serps, if that is getting a PR of 4, then you should see that actual search page as a backlink for every site listed there. I think it is probably a mistake because I have never heard of that happening and it shouldn't be possible. No backlinks...but I still see a PR 4. Very strange.Yeah, I would save the link and check next week to see if it still shows a PR of 4.Shows current page is not ranked in google for me, but I have gotten Pr for search pages sometimes too.there are times when google give PR to pages that have no backlinks. It does so for one major reason to me - Content, especially if this page links to other well PR pages. This happens. In this way directories are better off than other sites. The proof is that my directory has no backlinks and it is growing in PR. It was 0 and now it is 2.
