Does daily changing of price information in a title tag damage SEO ?

Hi

I'm thinking about changing the title tag for all my pages daily, updating it with the most current price information. (As I think this could improve CTR) All the other keywords in the title tag would remain the same however.

Does anyone think this is likely to cause a problem with regards to ranking in Google and other search engines?

Thanks for any / all replies!

Cheers I would say this should be no problem. If anything it will be a good thing, keeping your pages as up to date as possible is a great thing to do.

Once a week i go through my pages and change descriptions, title tags, etc. Google likes this they see is it as a active site.

Hope it Helps! I don't think that should be a problem but make sure that you do not change the keywords of the title. I wouldnt think so. As long as the main keywords are there then that is all that really matters Quote: Originally Posted by joeprice Hi

Cheers I see no value in doing this extra work. Are you trying to suggest to the bots that you have new content so they will come back sooner?

Plus, even if they come back every day, Doesn't mean they are going to update their cache immediately of all pages and present the latest greatest title tag.Google does as it pleases with your title and description in the search results based on what they think best suits the user's search. What if the user clicked your link in the search results at price X (going back to point 1) and you changed the price?Just seems like a lot of work when you could be doing some more productive things to draw in customers. I wouldn't do the extra work there's no reason to but if you do then no it won't have an effect unless your keyword is "$99 links" for example then obviously changing the price would have an effect. I think it is a good practice to do like this, because it looks like an update in your site. It will not cause anything regarding the search engines. The search engine bot will just display what is the title you have given, in the search results. Hope you understand. All the best. Yes, it will affect your ranking..so don't change it regularly If search engine bots feel a website is deliberately attempting manipulation a severe hand could be dealt, then again over the short term you may get away with it only to suffer at a later stage

If a website holds any value, the use of manipulative practices should be avoided, some will say if these kind of sites are banned, the owners brought it on themselves. hi,
First of all, Google doesn’t consider about Meta tags at all. You may get down from SERP due to changing the title tag often. If you change the tags, then you should have to do SEO works for that tags again in order to found on SERP (top place). It’s all time consuming process. My opinions don’t often change your tags. Then ...explain what you mean..... I don't think it adds any value to your site.

Lets say its tuesday today and you've updated the prices for tuesday in title tag but as far as I know Google won't update the title of that page in their results until thursday (atleast).

Also, changing the title (in general) quite too often COULD damage the SERPs. I have experienced it on one of my blogs. If you are removing just price then I don’t think it will effect any. Yes you can go with and no problem for ranking. But personally you should not make many changes to just your title. Title is really big factor in search engine ranking if you will not target your keywords you may lost your ranking
