Does anyone link exchange on their index page?

It seems like everyone is using partner or link pages, which I think is just overall bad. I, on the other hand, choose valuable partners and place their link on my index page and all of my other pages by using a footer file. Does anyone else do this? Anyone else trade links by other means then a partners page?I only have one external link on my index, and that is back to the people who made the directory.When i exchange links i always put them on subpages.But if you exchange links with your partner via index pages, you will be getting a link on a higher PR page then if the link was on a subpage. So shouldnt you encourage front page links to get a better PR page linking to your site?yeah that would be true. But in the future im going to be looking at selling text links, and the only place people would buy them from me is on the index.The site is a directory, so they can add to subpages for free anyway.You only have to go as far as Ozzu's index page.Link partners on index pages are usually kept to a minimun and comprise of only high profile links.I do. I have a links page, and I have a top refer list. The top refer list shows the top 10 that have sent me more than 5 uniques in the past 48 hours. It seems to be working for me. I get hits, and the people sending me hits gets a link to them from my home page, and every other page on the site.Top refers also get hits from me. I also found that some of those trying to get on my top refer list have me on their top refer list which means more back links for me. I'm sold, but it may depend on your site. I know if I took it off my site my hits would go down.Hi I recently joined this forum though I knew of this forum long time back. As for placing links on the home page, mostly these are bought links as links on the Home page are more valuable and not everyone is willing to put your link on their home page (specially true with a high PR website), unless you pay for it.Besides, it does not look nice to have links on the home page.Hello,Yes, I would be interested in having homepage link exchange.
