I signed up today not realising you had to add the code for accurate demographics..
Is it worth doing? Yes, I'm using it on one of my websites. Its similar to the Alexa. To see the perfect/accurate demographics and we need to install the script provided by the Quantcast system. This is because the script can collect the data (analyze the data) of the website visitors like where the visitor is coming from, how many pages he viewed in our website, how much time he spent etc. Hey mate, thanks for the reply! ;-)
Yeah I understand why you have to install the script. But do you think it's worth doing? I have to add to 1500 pages and don't want to waste my time! lol Oh.. it will be tough to place in each and every page. But, if we're using content management systems then it will be taking just few seconds to apply the code. Is yours is static website? Then I'd recommend you to insert the tag which is linked (like how css we link to the css file) to the universal javascript file (this is the file where you can place javascripts) and can be called back to the page when the page has been opened.
If we do lyk that, then we can easily add any new javascripts within seconds. Thanks for the reply!
Yeah it's static to a certain degree. I didn't think of the javascript technique but I will still need to reference to that javascript code in the head of every page so won't decrease the effort needed.
Anyway I don't mind putting in the effort to add the code, I just wanted to know if those that use it like it/think it's worth using..
Thanks again! You won't know if it's useful to you until you add the code. I mean how can they determine the demographics of the visitors (i.e. gender, age)? I mean GA can because some users login to their profiles while searching. But Quantcast? How do they do it?
