Hi!
Lets say you have 2x PR4 domains with exact same amount of backlinking power behind them. One domain has a "drop" in it's history other doesn't. Does this effect the linkjuice it will give the OBLs on the domain mainpages?
Thank you I'm not totally sure but I would say if they both have the same PR and the same amount of backlinks then they give the same amount of juice, even if one was dropped in the past. With that being said, I would definitely rather have the one without a drop.
One thing you do need to be careful of is how long ago the drop was. If it was recent then it might lose its PR in the next update. If it was a long time ago and it still has a PR4 then I'd say it's ok. If it still got a handfull of stable backlinks from PR3-5 sites it should not be a problem right?
The thing is that I'm starting my own little private network and a domain with a drop is half of the price of a none drop domain. I would check the backlinks it still has using YSE, check that the PR is valid with a site like checkpagerank(dot)net, do a Google site info search, look at the history in the wayback machine, and so on. Also see how long ago it was dropped and re-registered. If everything checks out good then go for it.
