Quote: Do you recommend article marketing as an SEO strategy and how are the backlinks treated when other websites republish the same article? Jeff, Orange County, CA Matt's answer:

His voice reminded me of someone.....
Ok, so, article marketing isn't going to be the best thing out there, but truthfully, one shouldn't only pick one area to promote a site. You need a mixture of techniques, like article marketing, blog posts, blog commenting, etc. for any campaign to do well these days. I write articles, and yes I write blogs as well.
Bogs, i think he was mainly mentioning articles online like Ezine and article base etc.
I think blogs are still going to be a good way to get your point across, even if your article doesn't do what its meant to do for traffic.
What I do think though, is that even if you're not going to use article marketing for backlinks, use it to promote the integrity of your business. Show the people that do read the articles that you know what you are talking about and it will boost your company profile a bit. It can't hurt. Even if the links aren't worth much. What about using it as a backlinking strategy? Does that still help? TIA. Quote: Originally Posted by emjo What about using it as a backlinking strategy? Does that still help? TIA. Not really.
Google Panda Update: Say Goodbye to Low-Quality Link Building
Complete Guide to the Google Panda Update: 50+ Articles & Resources Yep, the Google farmer/panda update has lowered the quality of article sites and the links associated. Maybe not great for generating trafficm however in an extremely competitive seo environment it is still a way to control backlinks and anchort text associated with them, and some are still ranked fairly highly if you look for them. But it shouldn't be a sole strategy, it should be one of many link building strategies. This is not exactly a scientific study, but I recently posted two articles on one of our websites, for different but niche subjects, and kept one unique to our site while posting the other to 10-15 article sites. Right now the one which is only on our site is nowhere near as visible as the one which we have shared. Not sure exactly what this means (not clever enough ;-) but must suggest there remains some value in article submission?
