I do not know http://websitegrader.com Did you guys actually look at the site referenced and try it? I think not.
It does not:
-require an email address to get some feedback. Yes, you do have to provide your email address if you want the full report. It's like a demo.
-it is run by Hubspot, so it definately isn't some flaky site
It does:
-give you some idea of what areas of your site needs improvement, like content
-how many pages they found indexed in Google
-Readability Level <-- important depending on your target audience. If you are talking over their heads they won't be back
-look at your meta data (Page title and description)
-look at the heading structure of the page analyzed
-show you if your images are missing their alt attribute
-give a little bit of domain info
-show your Moz Rank
-give the date last crawled by Google
-show a count of inbound links
-how you are doing promoting your site on places like del.icio.us, Twitter and Buzz
-how you are doing on providing points of converting readers to read your RSS or sign up for your newsletter
-tell you how you rank on Alexa
Now, back to the original question:
Quote: Do you ever test for website's grade?
I do not know this website give us fair score. I think it's too high. What do you think? I think you misunderstood the purpose of this site. It's not a site for evaluating the dollar value of the site. It's for seeing how you are doing with your SEO.
A high score is good! Means you are doing a good job with your SEO in their opinion.
Yes, every once in a while I have tested sites with the services provided by Hubspot. I use them as just a check to see if I missed something that needs fixing or improving.
Just tested one of my sites (gotta 92
).
Lost points for not having a blog for this particular site. <-- that's ok got it covered elsewhere
My readability is where anyone can read my site and understand.
It picked up a couple of empty alt attributes. <-- no biggy, they are decorative and should be empty
It didn't find my RSS feed. <-- but it is there
What did I gain by doing this? I have to figure out why Hubspot doesn't see my RSS feed even though it validates. HTMLBasicTutor I used it months ago and got a 94 which is a very inflated figure.I know there are many areas of my site that are not optimized
