Today's kids are even turning violent against Hispanics. Do you believe that the media and forums are causing the rise in hatred? The kids in PA even planned a fake story to tell the police! Are these kids our future? is it bad parenting or media influences? So sad! What are your thoughts?<br />

Darnel, this question is about hate toward illegal immigrants. Don't get off the subject! illegals only make up maybe 10% of gangs in L.A., and if you know gangs, that's a very very very small percentage.<br />

I think many Hispanics, especially in L.A. recruit younger Hispanics in their racist fight for ethnic cleansing,,,,,,,,,,especially about black people.

Not at all, that was one case,, that was plastered all over yahoo answers for weeks, surely you've can do better than that, not very original. Many of your questions I notice site increasing crime, racism etc yet only reference one isolated case, very, very discriminatory practices there and doesn't do much for your cause.

That's like saying the new breed of illegals are more prone to commit murder becasue that illegal killed the 2 kids and a father in S.F.

Nice try though.

It certainly doesn't help that illegal immigrants are branded for every downfall of society and for all economic woes. However, the hatred stems more from upbringing and a lack of respect for anyone. In most cases it's not the media that turns the kids, it's their own parents and neighbors and all other adults around them. Here, if someone with a Hispanic name is arrested for whatever, people automatically assume, he or she is an illegal immigrant and "what should you expect" blablabla. Kids are avid learners when it comes to stuff like that...

For those 3 kids, yes. And it was a hate crime becasue he was an illegal Hispanic, not just because he was Hispanic.

The rest of the kids in America, no. Unless you can scour the internet for a couple more hours and provide a couple hundred more current crimes exactly like that.

The Media, from the McClatchy newspapers to the national television programs, and particularly.. particularly ... National Public Television, has postured very, very hard for the illegal aliens. Even now.. looking at the huge exenditure required for illegal aliens, all of them are insisting this is some sort of racist attitude, and even now.. insisting we should be kinder to foreigner. It is insane.

Read it all... and no the media has not influnced anyone to be anywhere except forgiving of the illegal aliens, and while this author suggests only a very small percentage of the illegal aliens are 'bad', statistics and figures tell us something very different. We business and the media desperatly trying to force the illegal aliens down our throats and they are bad, bad business.

Of course not!

The media is unashamedly open borders and pro amnesty. They reprint many of the wrong stereotypes so often that far too many people are starting to believe them.

They state things like "We can't deport 12 million people." Of course we could easily deport 12 million people but we don't need to. If we took away the incentives/rewards the illegals WILL self-deport. that has already been proven.

They write illegal sob stories all the time to try to win the sympathetic Americans to their cause. They state they are just trying to survive. They forget to tell them that there are 4 or so BILLION people in this world who have far harder lives then Mexican illegals and likely most of the other illegals here.

They tell them that they are just here to work and are doing the jobs Americans won't do. There are far too many who come here to commit crimes, collect welfare and breed anchor babies. They forget to tell them about the millions of AMERICANS who would take those jobs if the employers stopped paying slave wages.

Illegals have it FAR FAR too easy!!!

Sigh more cut and paste. No the media didn't create this hate toward illegals, they've pretty much caused it themselves along with their supporters. If they weren't here there wouldn't be a problem now would there ?

Police detained Herman Marzelo Vail Bailon for questioning on Saturday after they were called to an Oklahoma City motel room where employees had been asked to help a choking toddler.

But police say the presence of blood in the room indicated there was something more sinister happening.

Police arrested Bailon on a child abuse complaint. Doctors then noticed bruising on Liliana's body and further examination revealed the girl's skull had been fractured and that she had suffered other injuries.

Liliana died on Sunday.

Federal immigration officials later said that Bailon, a native of Guatemala, is illegally in the United States.

I don't think it's the media that causes American youth to hate illegals. I think most of us see how the illegal immigrants abuse the system in our daily lives and that causes most of us to have little tolerance for them. Here in Ca. they're almost given special treatment. When you have your 1st. grader coming home speaking Spanish words because the teacher has ESL kids in the class, yes that can piss you off. Or you can't get a job because you can't speak Spanish. My husband works in the County jail here and he tells me that 90% of the inmates are illegal immigrants.

Many Americans see this kind of nonsense all the time. So who's to blame for our hatred towards them?

The government. They make the laws.

its not the media... its the child's choice if they choose to be violent towards immigrants but the parents are influencing them to act this way.

After killing 10,000+ people in the US did you expect a friendly welcome? And FBI reports over 50% of gangs and gang members are Hispanic. Of course unlike you they only count humans. You have to stop counting fruit fly gangs, pigeon gangs, etc.
We are still at Illegal aliens kill 10,000+
vs 3 illegal aliens killed.

No, I think kids are the most accepting of other cultures and races. This was an isolated incident by kids who probably hate all minorities.

I believe parents are to blame more than anyone, because children learn by example. You can read umpteen responses just in this question alone to see how people respond to the subject of immigration. The next thing you know, it's a hot topic at the dinner table between mom and dad (if their family even shares dinners together anymore) or overheard conversations when sleepless children hyped up on too much sugar are put to bed.

Then the media further fuels the seeds of doubt that have been planted in bumpkin's little brain by reporting half the story - since all things sinister seem to sell papers and draw viewing audiences.

Ultimately, both parents and the media play a role in fanning the flames of hatred and racism.
