Hi to all.
I have a wel known site in italian language. It is a good forum with 15k members.
In addiction to the forum I have built many static pages with reviews and other stuff related to the topic of the forum.
The static pages are plenty with info but they are not well positioned in google serp. The entire site is plenty of very good info but competitors appear above my pages even if their pages are smaller and with less information. Why?
In my site there are also a lot of quite empty pages generated each time a member post a pic. For example look at this pages:

There are a lot of this kind of pages (more than 50k). They have some content: the pics and sometimes the title of the pics.
I am wondering if google is penalizing my site as a result of that pics-pages.
Do you suggest me to add some declaration for telling to google to NOT follow these pages? Any suggestion?

User-agent: *
Disallow: /uploads/
This would instruct crawlers to not follow the files located within this folder so your images pages would not be indexed further. Yes I know this method.
But I have around 2000 pages of pics with many comments and info anth that pages are very well positioned.
I need a method for excluding specific pages. Is it exist? There is nothing wrong with pages with images but no text. Just don't expect them to rank. You could encourage your users to use alt and title tags with their images. If you are really worried, you can just add rel="nofollow" to each of the links pointing to the image pages. They are not harming your site though as far as I can tell. They will just have less ranking in the search engines themselves. Also, your informational pages will need SEO to have a better ranking in the search engines. Other sites may have more backlinks that point to their site which leads to a better ranking, even if they do have less information.
