different buttons for different forums

i have got an idea but have not implemented it. what i can do is copy the theme images and make a new folder(images/folder) and use that skin as custom skin and set that as default per forum (there is option while making sub forums). in every new folder i can keep different newthread buttons but rest will be the same. please tell if this will work
 
Just find some nice buttons and Upload them to your style's "buttons" folder.
They MUST be named "newthread.gif"

I am not sure if you can use the article one as some styles or forums do not use articles.

that will change the button for all the sub-forums..but i want to have different buttons for different sub-forums

Well then i am 99% sure that can not be done, because all subforums get their style from the main skin.
 
thats not true..go to ACP --> any forum --> Edit --> Custom Style for this Forum --> choose any skin..

I am sure that my method will work
