I am thinking about using the dhtml menu feature as seen here ona site. http://www.greenindustries.org/index.aspxI like the way it works and think it looks very clean. My question is will google have any trouble crawling the site will the dhtml menu?Or is a standard menu the way to go?DougI'm thinking this really pretains to the Google forum, so I'm going to move it.//movedI have had experience with Google ignoring links within a js file, but this menu appears to be able to utilize standard links in the page in an efficient enough manner that Google should be able to easily spider the whole site.I'll let the SEO guys confirm that.ATNO, check out:http://www.caffeinefuelled.net/tools/ne ... tructure=1and look at the structure bit (it's easier than sifting through code). The top level menu Items are plain html, but the submenu items are generated by js, hence the fact they don't show up. A search for the anchor text in the html source confirms this. This I have heard will make it <b>harder</b> for google to traverse, but as ATNO said, there are much more knowledgeable guys who can give you definate answers, just thought I would clarify how the links are produced. In addition, the menu is not cross browser compatible (check it in firefox), and is really quite bad for accessibility, I'd stay away from that particular scriptany more insight on this?DougDougI just ran a couple of bots against the site ... and the results are discouraging.Pages that are only linked through the drop down menus usually have a PR-0.To overcome this, some text links have been added to the internal pages. But, they are lower in the structure, so PR is lower than pages linked to the home page.I would avoid this menu if you wish to maximize your site page rank.I really appreciate all the feedback on this. I will not be using this navigation despite its smooth look. I have always heard it was not easily crawled but wanted to make sure. Here is a link to another site. "The company I work for" I didnt design the site but it uses a similar navigation. This site hasnt been crawled either and I am wondering if it is the same problem. What do you guys think. Here is the link.http://www.haysliplandscape.com
