Hello;A competitor has a high PR due to 1 backlink with a high PR.Now if I put a backlink on a PR 0 page so there is nw 2 backinks 1 of which is the high one and other mine this should destroy the PR ranking correct?I keep hearing that google doesn't give a negative effect to links from other sites because competitors ( like me ) might use "bad" links to competition, but that can't be entirely true since I also hear that dynamic spamming of ones site hurts.Shouldn't I be giving myself good links while planting "bad" links for others? If I spam competitions url won't this effect them? CAn I get in trouble? I don't see why I should be playing nice...ThanksPlanting bad links to your competitors is not a valid tactical discussion here.Sabotaging your competitors' business is immoral, and possibly illegal depending on your location. If your business is so bad that you have to sabotage your competitors in order to make your business succeed, then perhaps you should consider a new line of work.My particular competitors have taken action first to shut down auctions/etc.Can't imagine it being illegal, and if you don't believe every established, country, company, political party doesn't use tactics you're mistaken. That it would be that far off base I don't see. I will not mention any tactics of this nature here, I respect the forum. On that note I hope my competition will stop using tactics (not likely)Axe wrote:I don't believe this will cause any harm to your competitors ...Page rank is a SUM of the link values (not an AVERAGE), so it really does not matter how many PR-0 links you have.Unless you are a quick buck scam artist ... here today --- gone tomorrow ... underhanded tactics are rarely useful. Do you really want a reputation of being less than ethical?Focus on YOUR content and stop focusing on your competiors site...you cannot do anything about it anyways.I don't know why some people are so intent on destroying what someone else has created. Get off your ass and make your site worth something rather than trying to bring someone else down.it will do nothing to harm your competitor anyway, your simply giving him a link, thats going to help him.If it was that easy to harm someones website I think Google would have a serious issue on their hands.. (remembers the keyword tag)I think the best way you can do for now is to use your competitors site information in order to get an idea on how to improve your website.work on good content and back links and you will exceed your competition morally......Yups...totally agree. Placing a backlink to your competitor is helping him to improve...Analyze your competitor and do something better than him
