I don't know whether this is the right place to ask this question (if not, please let me know and my aplogies).
I'm looking for some really good books on database design. I already know how to write many types of SQL queries and have worked with MySQL, postgresql and microsoft sql (v. 7). What I'm looking for is a book that investigates real life applications and shows you how to design and implement database structures (for both web and local applications). Also, since I've only worked with a few real-life applications involving databases, I do not have much experience in database design.
So if anyone can recommend any books that they found helpful, please let me know. Also, if you have the time, I would appreciate it if you could also mention why you liked the book (so that i know what to expect).
