custom error pages

Has any one created custom error pages through Cpannel (404, 403 and so on )and if so how is this accomplished. Does it accept HTML or standard text. If some one could explain in detail, I wish to do this but don't want to mess it up.

& yes it accept HTML. This is how users put up large images rather then jut text.
