I've been reading the rantings about layout using TABLES vs CSS and SEMANTICALLY MEANINGFUL MARKUP (Vladdy) on this forum for a couple of years and never REALLY got it.
It sounded good and I've been using CSS for layout for some time. Then recently someone posted a comment with a link to <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.csszengarden.com">http://www.csszengarden.com</a><!-- m -->. I've been there before but never really looked.
The post suggested viewing the site using different browsers. The result was quite remarkable. It took me a couple of minutes to realize I was looking as the same site. There are additional links to display a number of different styles all with EXACTLY the same HTML markup.
A study of this site is well worth the time and will give those struggling with the idea of separating MARKUP and STYLING a good push in the right direction.Dang! How long did it actually take for you to get it..?? It took me ....well just the other day actually...(Being that I have been doing this all in total of 6 years) This whole time my site was looking like crap to those viewing it with Gecko browsers and I didn't even know it...geesh!! Then I finally Download ed Mozilla and was like HOLY HELL!!..OMG!!... Talk about getting hit below the belt buckle LOL!!....Welp!!....All we can do now is follow the role model above and myself and do some site editing hehe...Let's all try and spread the word to friends with websites and get them to convert from tables within tables within tables...and go CSS ALL THE WAY BABY!! WOOT!! WOOT!!..and in closing...in the meantime for our friend's and their sites....lets say a word of prayer...<bows head>..(Prays In Head)..Amen!!
TwistedWell, even though it may have needed hammering in to some people at least you now understand more clearly about CSS-P and web standards. You better believe it Rob... Now I know the way to salvation!...hahaha....Damn I feel so much better now...now that i learned the true meaning of website creating...the Lord CSS of the internet...damn skippy!! (But....all in all..I'm still going to use tables LOL ......woot!! woot!!) Anyway....see you all at the Church Of CSS N Latter Day Saints on Sunday LMAO <hugs n kisses to all>
