CSS - background position in sprite

I have a container where I set background to the \[code\]right middle no-repeat\[/code\], It works, but when I using sprite, position has set on the sprite image position, not container align. My question is how can I set to the \[code\]middle right\[/code\] into the \[code\]input\[/code\] tag for example. thanks.
