Hello there,
I just received an email from my web hosting technical support
(http://www.jaguarpc.com/) regarding connecting to our MySQL database. On
JaguarPC's servers, all external traffic must use SSH and I've been using a
Penguinet SSH client to local forward our MyODBC calls from MS Access 2000.
My client machine is running Windows 2000 Srv Pck2.
JaguarPC's servers are Linux-based, so I'm assuming they use the Linux port
of MySQL. According to JaguarPC's support,
"We do not support ODBC and MS Access, that is more geared towards a NT
server environment."
Is this indeed the case? That is, you can't connect to a Linux MySQL server
from a Windows client via MyODBC?
I'm not convinced with the technical support answer. Can anyone confirm this
before I raise my blood-pressure!
Best regards,
bonzo
