Creating colored hotspots on an image

Hey all.

I'm currently using Microsoft Frontpage Editor, and I was wondering about hotspots. I have this image and I inserted circular hotspots on this image. When I preview the page they work just fine. My question is, how do I get the hotspots show color, like red or blue?

Much thanks.

bajan_elfi think you can do this in dreamweaver, or right in your image editor using the image swap behavior.

i would probably do it in flash, though:)hi bajan,

hotspots, i'm not familiar with these, after a quick search,as i suspected, are frontpage prop, i can't advise on these but from what i have just read they are like ahving an image map.

For frontpage hotspots + rollovers i found these links that may help:
http://www.rtbwizards.com/helpcenter/wo ... aphics.htm
go to bottom of page on this one

greg, please spend some time to research your answer or atleast give some more guidance, for example instead of 'use flash', how about 'use flash, these links will help get you started:

see what i mean?

don't feel that i'm picking on you, this is not the first time you have answered someone's question like this. Thanks leoo24 for the links. The rollover won't exactly help me. I need to know about the hotspots/image mapping. I got them done, it's just the stupid color for the circles I can't figure out and FrontPage Help assistant is, of course, no help. I even tried fooling around with the code, like adding the attribute color="#FF0000" in the 'area href' tag, but to no avail.

To Gregory, I'm not much of a fan of DreamWeaver, due to the fact that I have never used it. I prefer to stick to the basic HTML coding. It's easier for me. And plus, the assignment I'm doing is for basic HTML code anyway. But thanks for the input. I'll actaully check out the DreamWeaver though, seems to be the in thing.

I'll keep searching around though. Thanks for your time.
alright, here we go, nice and in depth :-D

1: create an image file in Fireworks MX, and make some text, then make the hotspot like this...
http://24.238.145.39/1.gif
2:right click the text, and go to insert hotspot like this...
3:insert it, and then click this...
http://24.238.145.39/3.gif
and do this...
http://24.238.145.39/4.gif
then you have a created a hotspot in your image.
yay :DHey guys, sorry it took so long to reply to this. Greg, thanks for the screenshots and taking time to do all of that, I really appreciate it. Thing is [and I already feel bad], I had asked one of my tutors what to do, and she ignored me about the situation, then I asked the other one and he started going off about Javascript. I'm only doing and Introduction course to Webpage, even though I know what's going on. The assignment wasn't clear and that's where I went wrong. Yes, I have to include hotspots on the image, and as I mentioned before I got that down-packed. It was just that I wante the actual hotspot to be a different color, and now after some research I don't think you can do that. So the only option I see, is to color in a circular dot and then place the hotspot over it. Which would be what the tutor wanted in the first place, but failed to explain that clearly on the assignment sheet. So again I apologize for the time and much effort you guys gave for trying to find a solution to my problem...
