What you have to decide is what coding language you want the counter to run through. There are many alternatives to free counters that are remotely hosted.<br />

depending on the service that you have at your webhost you'd be able to use coding languages such as php, perl, javascript, and a few others. It's not that hard to set up any of these if you know how. <br />
