How can i make my own counter that uses cookies so it goes by the viewer's ip?would be to ask your host for the info.

Many hosts can supply this info, but it will probably cost more.

Counters are programs that usually reside on remote systems which can slow down loading time of your site.

Unless you can buy the program or write your own then the choice is;

www.thecounter.com/

www.extreme-dm.com/tracking/

That is the only ones listed in my reference book.

Good Luck :rocker:yeah...right now my counter is from hostedscripts.com but I want to be independent and I don't want to depend on other sites to do the work for me. ie. if the site goes down then i'm screwed, but also I want my site to be totally done by the EI teamit's really easy to do. What you have to decide is what coding language you want the counter to run through. There are many alternatives to free counters that are remotely hosted.

depending on the service that you have at your webhost you'd be able to use coding languages such as php, perl, javascript, and a few others. It's not that hard to set up any of these if you know how.

post a reply and maybe we can help you out some more :)thanks but no thanks...i'm talking to the administration about everything..
