Code for adding Back Forward buttons ?

Hi how do i add back/previous and forward/next controls to the following script ? I owuld like to hold down the back or forward buttons and have the images automatically scroll THAT way.

I know it CAN be done because I found an example here:http://eportfolio.studio.adobe.com/epShowPortfolioThumbs.asp?portfolio=15632&color=010101
***But the code has been altered so much I can make heads or tails of it******
