Class for Button in NS 4.x

I haven't found this documented anywhere, so I want to be sure: it seems that giving tags CSS style attributes by defining classes in <style> has no effect on <input type=button>, for NS 4.x. True?<!--content-->correct, NS4.xx will not run hardly any css in style tags or a style sheet. NS4.xx is very limited and behind the standards for css.<!--content-->
