WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
anyone else?
I just had someone else look at it who said it wasnt workingI didn't get it on win2000 and IE6, but then again mine at my site doesn't work either on this machine. if you have favicon.ico in the root folder it will work for 90% of all users. notice I said 90%....

IE automatically looks for it on load of the site.hrmmm
oh well

thanks scoutt

it appears to be working in some cases, but not others.
not like it's really a big deal anyways - just a bit of a gimmickRunning Win2k and IE6.

I wouldn't call it a gimmick. It catches my eye when I go through my bookmarks and see all of these icons. Besides, it adds a little bit of *oooo* factor and professionalism.Well, I havent seen what that site tells you to do, but in my site I use a very simple code(one line):

<link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href=http://www.htmlforums.com/archive/index.php/"http://www.yourdomain.com/youricon.ico">

Hope it helps.theoretically you don't even need that. IE by default looks for it. not sure if NS or others can use that link tag.

hmmm something to experiement with. :)Also, it should be noted that if anyone here shares ISP then they may have retrieved a cached page (if someone went to your site earlier). After a couple of days though everyone should get the favicon (I think).that sounds reasonable, but I have never gotten mine or anybody elses, on this machine in the year I have had it, to work, and no it isn't a firewall problem ;) lolDo you not get one when you got to my site? Try clicking favourites (you may as well save the pickup page I send you as a favourite anyway :) )

Firewalls? Why? Do they cause problems? hehe :DI don't get it on yours either....
