I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the code to do page translations, I am really looking for spanish, german, and french. Is there a script out there or something that take the contents of a page and can display it in another language or is there another method, one that is preferably free? Thanks! :)A bunch of companies like freetranslator.com worldlingo.com and http://world.altavista.com/ provide page translations as a free serivce.I was hoping for something that wasent ad infested. Wouldnt it be possible to include a dictionary file or something and then run a program to translate it?There are several online, realtime translators out there. All you need is an accessible page and a link to the translator.

Use a search engine to look up the work "translate" to find translators.

The accessible web page is a bit more complicated. The trick is to make sure that you are using HTML properly. Of particular note, use the CITE element for citations and make proper use of the "lang" and "alt" attributes. The translators will leave the contents of your CITE elements alone, which is what you want. The "lang" attribute lets the translator know what language it is starting with. That way you can pepper your page with French and Latin terms making you look way smart. See http://babel.alis.com/langues/iso639.en.htm for a list of the valid values of this attribute. And set the "alt" attribute to any textual information that the image is conveying.

See http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/ and remember that a page that is accesible is accesible to computers as well.I once saw this thing on a site where it just had two little icons with a spanish and french flag, when you clicked on the icon, it changed the page to a french page. Should I just be translating all the pages and setting the right links, or is there another method for this?I would use a translator service and translate the page into all different languages and then using the flags as links to the output. Because after you run one of those you get a long sting in the url with your sites url that allows it to translate the page everytime a user clicks the link.
