Change start date

Hi guys, a straight forward question here;

How do I cange the start date of my forum? Now it seems the date is 1970, and some ppl questioned me about it. So, is there a way to change the first day of the board to a more real date ?

Can't seem to find the right file to edit..

off topic: what's the hack called like so you can automaticly highlight a word like the word 'forum' and give it a description ?
