Ok i have a big dilemma.
I started a insurance quotes / leads site called orlandoinsuranceadvice
Great domain name because it has the 2 keywords i originally wanted to target.
I have built up great backlinks to this domain and am on first page of google for my keywords however i am not getting enough traffic so i am changing the backlink keywords to target the state instead of a city.
So I have registered the domain name Floridainsuranceadvice
Now what should i do? SHould i transfer the site to the new domain and give the old site a 301 redirect? And just build backlinks to the new site? I still dont want to loose all the work i have done so far. Or should i just 301 redirect the new domain to the old site? What are some other better options? What would you do? ... You can work on both.
Another option you could do is:
Floridainsuranceadvice/city1/q1
Floridainsuranceadvice/city1/q2
I'd say focus on getting more links and generating some (user) content + some social media marketing. use permanent redirection to transfer the rankings of your domain. but for permanent redirection to work for ranking wouldnt i have to change all the backlinks that point to the domain orlandoinsuranceadvice to the new domain floridainsuranceadvice? But orlando insurance keyword not giving me good traffic, i want to now be ranked for florida insurance keyword and i think it might be easier to get that if i have florida in my domain name instead of orlando. However i still want to rank for orlando insurance and i dont want to loose all the work and backlinks i put into getting orlandoinsuranceadvice domain ranked.
What to do..... Redirects will help a lot. Redirect all the traffic to your new domain and google willl transfer the PR to new site. It's either you redirect your site to the new domain or you create a subpage for the state. just redirect your sites dude. Musch easyier and will help with the PR juice to. Good luck
