Category-like forum

Hi, I'm new but I am used to vB boards. I love it very much. Now I'm an Admin. Having problem how to setup this little forum below.

I want to make this section, Important News, to look like the other section in that category. (ie. make it look like Laughters & Jokes) But I don't want to see the buttons such as "New Topic" etc in that section. (ie. like this Image2)

Bottom line is I want to make that Important News not blue and look like others but have no buttons inside and should be like this Image3

If you don't understand, please ask.

If I do that, I will see "New Thread" button which I don't want. :(

Its the 3th option on that same screen you highlighted...
Forum is Open [YES/NO
'No' to Prevent any new posts being made on this forum

Note that people won't be enable to reply on your threads too...

for example

Look at this section "REQUESTS" it looks the same as the other forums of its below,

But it doesn't have "New Thread" button when you click on it.

im lost in what you want you want a catagory or forum? is it active or not ? and will there be post allowed ? if so when you click on the topic it should open a new forum wehre post or request can be made as in it will need the buttons/functions to do so.

I am very thankful that you're trying to help.

The forum will be active and posting will not be allowed but posting is allow in Important News's sub forums (not in Important News).
 
I am lost as well but judging by the first image here is how things are set up:

Community Lounge(Act as Forum = No)
-Introductions(Child forum of Community Lounge/Act as Forum = Yes)
-Laughters(Child forum of Community Lounge/Act as Forum = Yes)
-Important News(Child forum of Community Lounge/Act as Forum = NO)
-Off Topic(Child forum of Community Lounge/Act as Forum = Yes)

That is the current settings, but Important News is showing up as a BLUE which I don't want. I just want it to look like the other Child forums but "Act as forum = no".

Is there a mod for this or something?

Any idea?
