Can you extract original XSD from XML?

Is it possible to generate the original \[code\]XSD\[/code\] from an \[code\]XML\[/code\] document?If an \[code\]XML\[/code\] document did not use some optional data elements of the original schema, wouldn't any generated \[code\]XSD\[/code\] be different from the original \[code\]XSD\[/code\]?
