Can someone please tell me how this site is ranking number one on Google for the keyword cheating wife. http://www.kolias.com/relationships/cheatwoman.htm It has very few backlinks and hardly any real information, yet it is beating out sites with hundreds of backlinks and good content. Your site may have a PR-5 but this is only one of the 100+ factors used by Google to rank sites. They have over 300 pages where your site has 44. Google also shows 54 links to your 48.This is just another example showing PR is not the determining factor when Google ranks a site. The site in my sig. is not the site in question. Actually, I am not even talking about my site. I was just wondering how it was beating out the other sites on the first page of results for the keyword cheating wife. The page I built for that keyword just showed up in Yahoo and MSN on the first page of results, however in Google I am still around 500's. I think that this gives more power to the old sandbox theory. As I have understood from some of the big guns here it's probably the links that are pointing to the site you are talking about. Of coarse I don't know squat so I could be wrong. SwanJust as rtchar has said, PR is one of the many factors. You cant base it on PR this time.sites look pretty established at first glance nothing to do with sandboxing this time.Looks like that site you are talking abt is winning cuz of other G factors.Like what? I am trying to get a hold on this SEO thing and finding out why a site like this ranks so well would help me soooooo much. If you look at the first two sites for the term cheating wife you will see several reasons why this site is #1 ...The term "cheating wife" appears in the page TITLE for #1 but for #2 the title is "cheating spouse".The on page font for the words "cheating wife" is larger (font=7) and bolded, giving it more weight than page #2.The words "cheating wife" also appear closer to the beginning of the page.So why should the site not be first?Because it has virtually no links compared to the ones rankng below it. Google uses 100+ factors to determine where a site will rank in search results.On-page factors (like those listed above) and Off-page factors (like number of links and the link text used) would need to be analyzed. I just don't have the time needed to do a full analysis for you ...Yeah but even the novice webmaster knows that targeted anchor text links are the most important part of getting your site ranking well in the serps. At least IMO. Well, their main site has a PR of 5 and also has over 1200 backlinks. If you really want to get a surprise, look in about a day or two. You will see this post ranked within the top five for the keyword phrase cheating wife. This specific post won't have any backlinks per se, however OZZU has has almost 28,000 backlinks and a PR of 7.Actually, this post has already moved up to rank 21:http://www.google.com/search?q=cheating ... rt=20&sa=Nyes the power of link popularity strikes again. I have a site that has a PR7 and I can target a modest keyword and achieve great results within a few days. Still means nothing though if the optimized page has not a lot to do with the keyword...
