Can PHP access session variables stored by JavaScript

Hi, I know the basic use of sessions in both JavaScript and PHP. Question is, can I use a value I stored in my JavaScript session inside my PHP code (sure without closing the browser). That is can PHP access session variables stored by JavaScript ???
