Hey folks,
I have no big experience with search engine optimization other than a few things like blog commenting and directory submission. I don't know the quick ranking tricks some guys use to get good position in search engines. I have a small online news publishing and distribution service (removed) which allows webmasters to talk about their services and websites. I am trying from last two months to make it on first page of google for a news release service related keyword. But till now, I'm failed. If you have any suggestions, any advice - please leave it here. That'd be a great help.

You should implement all the seo techniques like on page as well as off page optimization and also learn new seo technic and implement the same, write fresh content related to our website service and products and optimize that content according to your targeted keywords and update these content in your website. also do quality link building like article submission, press release submission, social bookmarking, 3 way link exchange etc. Just like the others said, hard work and patience are not only necessary, but mandatory. The competition in your niche is big, so don't expect outstanding results overnight. Just keep your content updated and interesting, keep on building relevant backlinks from authoritative sites and of course implement all the other on-page and off-page SEO tips and tricks. You need to know complete seo ( onpage & off page) and then work accordingly. ranking at top position may take 4-5 month so don't except result in 2 month. I have hit top spot in 24 hours. It all depends on the competition and the trust of the site you add the keyword content to.
My general advice is to make sure you are targeting a realistic keyword, ie with low-to-moderate competition strength, and then build links, then build links, then build links.... ^^ Congrats...mind to share your keywords?
