Browser Support for XML

I have never worked on XML before but i have been assigned to find out howXML can be used on the intranet instead of using the existing ASP with HTML.I have heard that all browser versions do not support XMLIm using IE 4.0 and Netscape Communicator 4.5A progam working on IE .40 doesnt seem to working on IE5 and vice versa .None of the programs work on my NEtscape 4.5Please suggest me what should i do about itthanks
