Any thoughts on these changes? It is nice to have less clutter. Part of google's appeal is the simple layout, so I think that Bing is going a step in the right direction. But such a small change won't help them catch google very well. If Bing could market itself as a worthy search engine with good results that would be much better than playing around with layout. Bing's wallpapers/pictures/whatever, are really nice but I'd still prefer getting my search results from Google.

Perhaps Bing is testing more possible places for ads? so what? can they beat google? Quote: Originally Posted by opportunist86 so what? can they beat google? Thats great as bing is doing well and gaining popularity also and if such changes will continue then one day sure its emerge as another most popular search engine. I didnt notice much new changes, guess its more codewise changes! they go with the trend of changes.. one search engine update or make some changes, then everyone follows. One of their marketing strategy.. Google has plain background but still the world is using it. In personal point-of-view, design does not affect much but the user-friendliness and the layout do matter. @pinky , you are right,, User friendly API does matter the most and the search result also. How does it matter to me. We all use Google and in spite of the changes, I guess nothing can beat Google. Removing clutter is always good. Simple layout with excellent looking. Nice picture and wallpaper but I always prefer Google for my search
