Posterous.com is a service that allows automatically posting articles to many blogs and services such as Wordpress, Blogger, LiveJournal, Facebook, Twitter, etc. The articles on the Posterous blog do rank well in Google.
Question for you guys: what is the best way to use Posterous?
If I publish the same articles to a dozen blogs, it will create a lot of duplicate content. On the other hand it will create a lot of backlinks. Should I use it or not? Does it lower the ranking of the original article on my main blog because it has a lot of duplicates?
How does Google consider various blogs having the exact same content? Well it could be that you get outranked by the other sites you have posted to, one will be seen as the original. If this happens though you could just remove the one that is outranking.
Putting a bunch of backlinks to your site should not lower your ranking, otherwise anyone could knock out their competition from the serps.
