Hi,

Which company do you guys prefer for FreeBSD server management (pref. 6.1)? A lot of the recommended ones here seem to only do Linux.

You might do well by checking out Inetu, www.inetu.net. I used to work with their CEO, Dev and he's a really sharp guy. He's also one of the most trustworthy people I've ever met in the ISP business. They were doing dedicated FreeBSD and Linux servers in 1998 when I still lived in Pennsylvania.

Don't take my word for it however, check them out in Netcraft: http://uptime.netcraft.com/perf/graph?c ... ange=86400

For years now they've been in the top 5 list of most reliable webhosts with Netcraft. I'm actually just about to sign off on a couple of boxes with them as remote nagios serversRackmounted is outstanding. Also I recommend ServePath, but they're expensive.I'd be a bit weary about ServePath. I walked into their datacenter 4 years ago when they were still at 650 townsend. I had a thermometer with me, and it was about 90 degrees.. They didn't seem very concerned. The facility they're in now, JMAwired, is a bit sketchy. One of my customers had a rack of gear there. They were basically a lights out telco closet. One night my paging system paged me, ironically while I was out having dinner with the customer's CTO. We walked into the datacenter, to find that they had decided to rewire the power for that colo room.. Admitted, there were only about 12 racks in there at the time, but that was no excuse. It was a 12 hour outage.
