Hi senior webmasters
plz tell about Benifirs of creating site map. Site maps are navigation for our web site.Generally site maps are written in XML. These allows the user to navigate easily through the web page.and also site maps makes our web page search engine friendly.The search engine crawlers first search for the site map to find the internal pages of a web site.So it is always better practice to keep the site maps in our site.. This is confusing for website owners because there are 2 types, both benefit SEO (search engine optimization).

1. Traditional Site Map
A traditional site map is a web page on your website where you list all the pages within the site. If the site is really big, then this page is used as a directory of the sections.

The traditional site map is useful to your website visitors. If they want to get to a certain area of the site quickly they can do so. If they get lost they can use the site map to find their way to where they intended to go. This type of site map adds usability to your website.

Search engines read this page also therefore it leads the search engine bots to the pages within your website.

2. Sitemaps
A Sitemap is an XML file which is created for the search engines. There is a Sitemap protocol which at the time of this writing is only supported by Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft.
