Why is it when i check the backlinks to my site using link:www.example.comi get different results on each search engine. For example i get 30 results on Google whereas 450 on msn.com. I know that it's related to the indexing of each search engine. So if we assume that those pages that have backlinks to my site have the robots.txt then how come msn.com indexes those pages but Google doesn't? Does it matter to Google the rank of the pages that link to my site?Google doesn't show all the backlinks to your site. I also have about 440 backlinks showing up on MSN, but 0 on Google.I think it's just a matter of time before some of them will be displayed on G.Yes, the rank of the pages linking to your site DOES matter.Google never shows all link and keeps new link in a temporary place and only after these links have matured (according to Google) that it shows for a site and also passess on the link benefit. So dont' you worry about Google not showing all your links. Google knows what all links you have.Google doesn't show all backlinks plus they all update their index at different times plus some sites that you may be listed on have been banned from google and not from the other search engines, etc.you may try checking here http://www.iwebtool.com google does not show all the backlinks.
