Backlinks VS. content

My index page shows a PR of 5. My nr. 2 page shows a PR of 6. The difference in backlinks on the two pages is significant. While the index page has about 65 backlinks the nr. 2 page (.../seo.html) only has 20 backlinks - and almost all of them comming from internal pages. Why is my nr. 2 page showing a greather PR? I know that it depends on the number of outgoing links from the pages that genrates PR, but it does not seem that that is all there is to it...could it be because of more content on the nr. 2 page? The index is listed in DMOZ and the nr. 2 page is not. Has anyone got an idea of the generally PR Google adds to pages with no backlinks, but decent concent? Also if anyone running a marketing or SEO site and would like to exchange some links, let me know. index) http://www.solutions2buy.dk page2) http://www.solutions2buy.dk/seo.htmldepends on the PR of the backlinks I believe. Despite what some people may say, content is not king in PRs.I would still say content is king in regards to PR. Although content wouldn't affect PR directly it would have an affect indirectly. If you provide a great deal of useful content chances are you will have more people linking to you just because you provide a great resource. That in turn will affect the PR. Your primary goal when making any website in my opinion is to focus on the content. That is what the people want and that is ultimately what the search engines are wanting to link to.I think it as good content being a great car and PR being performance parts. The better your content is the more the PR will do for you.I am seeing PR5 for both pages you listed. I've seen pages with no content but linked by a PR10 site and that page has a PR9.PR5 is because of the recently G PR update...grrr....I have been doing a lot of research in the area of PR and there seems to be a lot of misconceptions about what it is ...... rapid calculation of a web page's "PageRank", an objective measure ...http://www-db.stanford.edu/~backrub/google.htmlIn other words it is a mathematical formula ... and nothing more!My guess is that 'Solutions' modified his link structure --- and reduced the overall effectiveness.Did you add or remove any links (or pages) from your site? But it is also subjective, because it is only Google's opinion, and they can drop or erase your PR if they want to. That's part of the myth about PR ...If you are in the wrong neighborhood (link farms) or you attempt to manipulate results (unethical behavior) then you can be deleted from the index ... which means NO page rank. When you remove a lot of the myths it is a simple algorithm applied across hundreds of millions of pages. But I doubt some gnome is sitting in the basement playing with YOUR pagerank. Yeah, I know. I read " Pagerank Explained "about a year ago and found it quite interesting.Well now we are heading in the same direction ...I have written a small program to analyze links within a site. Sort of calculates page rank on a small scale. The reason I am doing this? I found a small site (29 pages) that has a PR-6. Google only shows 33 links ... and 13 of them are from WITHIN the site. No lnk has a page rank greater than PR-5. So how is it that Pr can exceed the sum of it's parts?I think the internal structure acts as a multiplier for incoming PR.Could you pm me the site you are seeing this on? But this shows its all about quality, because I am guessing the site has some quality sites pointing to it.PM me the site as well.Juz curious.cheers!
