Hi friends i have site named Goodluckdomain and i register my site in .com and .in. For SEO purpose i redirect my site from .com to .in (For Duplicate issues i do 301 redirect). For the last two month i build back link for www[dot]goodluckdomain[dot]in website.
Now my question is the back links are not added. i e when i check the back links for my .in website in yahoo site explorer it doesn't show my back links what is the problem. is any problem with the redirection. The old .com domain is the ones link built. You need to find all the outbound links and alter the domain extension to .in so your OBL will be directed to the new domain. I don't think that backlink will be shown as a part to your new site but whenever any of your visitor clicks on the backlinks pointing to your previous site then he'll be redirected to your new website. The best place to check for links is Google webmaster tools. If your links are not shown there check that the outbound page is in the Google index. Backlinks have to be crawled by search engines to show up. Building backlinks to backlinks is much more effective to get them crawled and have them help your search engine ranking. What kind of redirect did you use? Only a 301 takes the links with it. Your 301 permanent redirects appear to be fine.
It will just take time for your old incoming links to be crawled and be picked up as redirected. If you can, asking the places where you find your old link to update would help.
If this is a new site, then possibly the places where you have backlinks haven't been crawled yet or recrawled. As far concerning your redirection error you can check a redirection error by analyzing webmaster accounts. It shows redirection error if any one is present. If we talk about back links well you need to wait a bit and let these pages crawl and index for Google as well as for Yahoo. We're never sure that we get a link we made yesterday immediately..
