My website http://www.starrproductions.com has finally been "re-entered" into the Google index (on page 4 for "maryland djs") about a week ago, but for some reason when I check my link popularity, it still states that Google is not showing any backlinks for my url. I have around 265 for Yahoo, and close to 500 for msn, according to Marketleap.com For the same keyword "maryland djs" in MSN I'm #1, and in Yahoo #4, so I must be doing something right, so is this normal and should I just wait for Google to show my backlinks, or is there something I'm also doing wrong.....because any backlink update appeared yet on Google since your site reindexed.dolay wrote:Google updates back links every day but you have to wait for Google to update the "link" command once every month or so. It aint done it for over a month now!ive been listed 1 to 5 on yahoo and msn for "web designers dundee" for ages now googlewellermim listed 120th so ill never get seen i have 2500 inbound links but only 8 yes thats eight are listed on googlegoogle is crap and i hate it but when im listed on page one and i have a page rank of around 7 then ill say google god there greatuntil then im jused enoyedi have a page rank of 2 just now by the way and it has been 2 for over 2 months nowive used all the optimisation tricks i used to get all the other sites in my folio listed the keywords the clients wanted but the Web Design category may be to overwelmed to do any thing new in itjust a rant therebut good advice to boothave a look at my site it has valid W3C Flash appletsYou're just suffering from the TLA or "sandbox factor" or what ever you want to call it....your site shows as being registered in Jan 2004 but the who is status shows "not active"...you may have to wait a few months for google to get you indexed properly. http://www.whois.sc/barryswebdesign.co.ukI assume this is the site you're talking about?thanks for that m8 i had a look at the URL you posted up there but i cant get alot of info from it as i have to be a silver meber to get it but i do see reg dates and stuff.. i did only change my domain over to its own server this year so i do see where you are coming from there.. i used to use it as a forward address to my own personal webspace Well I guess you guys were right...I just had to be patient.....On saturday, my backlinks from google was listed, and my index page on my webbie is pr4 outta nowhere(was pr000000), and several other pages within my site are pr3 or pr2, so I guess I officially served my sentence, and I'm out on parole and I better be a good boy... I've experienced the same problem recently. It seems that there is a time period between crawl and indexing in Google. Also have in mind that sometimes links from your own site don't count, as MSN and yahoo doesGoogle reports about 5-10% of IBLs as do MSN and Yahoo! Plus, it takes 4-6 weeks for Google to register your IBLs, whereas MSN and Y! do it within a few days. I suspect that this is a tactic to encourage webmasters to use their AdWords program to get quick exposure for their new sites.Google's backlinks display has become pretty useless of time. Use Yahoo's linkdomain: function. The results are going to be far highter and this will give you a better understanding of you link popularity.yahoo: linkdomain:www.yourdomain.comMsn using link:www.yourdomain.com
