I have read some articles stating that they are no different from regular domains.
The only difference is that .edu/.gov tend to have a lot of inbound links which makes them very credible and authoritative.
So the ultimate question is : "how valuable and important are backlinks from high PR .edu/.gov websites? only valuable thing is Back-links from Relevant sites with high PR . I personally have been adding at least 2 backlinks total (any combo of .edu or .gov)
