Back-Up Question !

Hey guys,

My freind just gave me a phone call asking a question. He said he has a back-up of his old forum but hasent got a host. He asked me if he finds a host how dose he upload his backup to the host. And when the back-up is uploaded will that be it will the forum work.

I didnt know so i shall ask you guys

just take a backup of your home directory from previous host, take a back up of the SQL database, upload both and sit the day out until name servers are done with
