Hello! I was hoping some people could give some SEO advice on the site I have in my signature. It's my parent's online company that they get all of their income from. It lost about 50% of it's traffic with the new Google algorithm and no matter what changes my father has made, traffic is still heavily down.
What are some things you see that need improvement? I know the layout is kind of blah looking, but that's beyond my control. D: There's plenty of keywords on the site, but those don't seem to help much, even after changing them a bit. I'm mega new to learning about SEO so I'm not much help with any of this. x_x
[Ultimate Auto Accessories.com Overall I would say that if your family wants to be high in organic search results, you should look into recoding the website. (For SEO purposes. The layout could stand to be updated as well while you're at it, but the code is part of what's hurting you.) The site uses so many tables and outdated code that the search engines are going, "Okay, text makes up 14% of this site and code makes up the rest. I'll rank this other site with 47% text higher." If you're able to look into it, I would highly recommend using WordPress because it creates pretty clean code, will make site updates easier, and has excellent SEO benefits built in.
I notice you have a lot of images with little text. Some pages have lots of images on top, then text on the bottom... it has always helped me to mix the two together, so the related words are next to related images.
If you want to learn SEO at your own pace, I highly recommend Cricket's SEO-by-email class. She teaches not only SEO techniques but also marketing that will help you sell more when you get those visitors.

All the best. Well, you need to improve your keywords, as I see on your meta tags you only have 4 keywords there, I think it is much better if you will make it 10 and research for a keywords that are most searcheable in google and add some long tail keywords on it, because am sure your keywords will be competitive. Adding meta keywords really doesn't help anymore. What does help, is choosing a specific keyword for each page, and then using the keyword throughout the page naturally and as the name for image files.
Ourscompany is right, if you're able to recode, you'll want to hire a professional who can put redirects in place. If you change a bunch of file names without proper redirects, it will be almost like starting from scratch.
Off-site, you might want to try developing a Facebook page and Twitter account - use it to develop better repoire with your customers and also because Google loves those links to your website.
