Anyone have any feedback on Austin? I lost positioning on a few sites, but gained back positioning on the sites I lost in the Florida update. It looks like they took out some backlinks on my sites. Results seem to be about the same.Seeing some sites with #1 position for a competitive word with many hidden links.Yes, that is another thing I noticed, my backlinks dropped and I did lose a point of PR on many sites, though some of my sites gained PR.It is my experience that PR will always fluctuate as more and more similar sites to yours are added to the web. The thing to remember is that pr is spread out across all similar sites. The more sites the lessening degree of pr available to each.check this for latest updationhttp://www.searchenginejournal.com/index.php?p=237&c=1raj_freind wrote:nuclei wrote:try here: http://www2002.org/CDROM/refereed/127/"During the offline processing of the Web crawl, we generate 16 topic-sensitive PageRank vectors, each biased (as described in Section 2) using URLs from a top-level category from the Open Directory Project (ODP) [2]. At query time, we calculate the similarity of the query (and if available, the query or user context) to each of these topics. Then instead of using a single global ranking vector, we take the linear combination of the topic-sensitive vectors, weighted using the similarities of the query (and any available context) to the topics. By using a set of rank vectors, we are able to determine more accurately which pages are truly the most important with respect to a particular query or query-context. Because the link-based computations are performed offline, during the preprocessing stage, the query-time costs are not much greater than that of the ordinary PageRank algorithm."Hello, does anybody know if Google just updated their rankings? It seems all of my site rankings just changed today.Google has indeed been doing an IBL/PR update. And Google pretty much updates positioning daily. I see changes on all my sites everyday. Its been this way for quite awhile. Gone are the days of the "once a month" dance. But like Nuclei said, a PR update is happening.where exactly do you people find the official names for these updates..?They really are not official. They come up with names sort of like hurricanes. This may sound abit off-topic...Does the information in web-inspect.com make complete sense? -I have just finished reading all the information in there and it seems to make sense to me. seo noob here and I dont wanna be led astray!Any vote for web-inspect?
