I was at the Fall Internet Expo last week and the Microsoft representatives had a booth about .NET. The end was the release dates, with the next beta available in the spring and finished product Nov 2001. Thinking I had heard incorrectly, I asked and he confirmed it.These dates are very incorrect. I think the person you were talking to (btw -- mind sending me his name privately?) might have been confusing the Beta1 dates with RTM. Either that or he might have been confusing us with other ".NET" products (specifically Windows.NET, Office.NET, etc) -- that have different ship cycles from us.
