I work for a local government that would like to run asp.net on our new servers. My question is this, I know I can download the asp.net package from asp.net. Is this the asp.net framework? Also if I want the asp.net development environment as well, do I need to purchase the visual studio.net package or will this come with the download?<BR><BR>If you can email me i would appreciate it, [email protected]<BR><BR>mikeyes, the package you're downloading from asp.net is the .net framework which is installed and run on top of IIS. to develop asp.net applications, you need little more than notepad. however if you want a gui development environment you will need to purchase vs.net separately as it does not come with the framework.
