ASP.NET and Scripting Object Model (ASP 3.0)

Hi,<BR><BR>I'm from Brazil and I have worked with ASP for 3 years (since Visual Interdev 1.0). I have read a lot about ASP.NET but one think I cannot understand : some ASP.NET features are very similar to Scripting Object Model (SOM) from Visual Interde 6.0, however, nobody say that. With SOM we had a programming to events (thisPage_onEnter and thisPage_onbeforeserverevent, for example) and server controls (Design Time Control), like button, listBox, DataGrid, etc...<BR>Some advantages sold with ASP.NET already exists in Scripting Object Model.<BR>What is happening ??<BR>
