Article Marketing = Backlinks?

Hey there,

Just wanted to find out a bit more information on the whole process I realise that if you content is unique you do indeed get "backlinks" from the resource box or links in your published articles, I wanted to know if any of you more experienced guys/gals could shed a bit more light on the whole process.

So I write up an article submit it to hundreds of directory's, I know people say low numbers higher quality, but what I am confused with is the whole duplicate content.

So my article gets accepted to hundreds of directory's, I am assuming that I wont get the hundred x two backlinks per article. Does duplicate content still count as backlinks just gets not shown on google.

Another thing is I am new to websites or should I say advertising them, should I be doing something more with my RSS feed dont really know much about it.

And the last question after taking up all your time already, I created a blog and did nothing but submit articles two weeks ago. When I "domain" in google 340 search results show up, are they "backlinks" as web-master tools show no backlinks.

Sorry to bother you best way to learn is from the best ^ ^

(Just got into this and subscribed to UAW, so trying to make the most out of every article I submit) from my experience your aiticles must have hihg quality, and the blogs and forums you submit must have high PR. Hi,

1. Generally speaking, a same article might not be accepted by 100 article directories at the same time. You need to spin it and submit different article to different directory. This would also be helpful for indexing and back linking purpose.
2. In my own experiences, RSS feeds would be a nice source for using as real feeds on social networking platform for updating purpose but not back linking.

all the best, There is no doubt the the same article can be accepted by different directories. They can be count as backlinks. You also can add your article to many blogs. Yes, every time you submit an article to a directory, it counts as its own backlink. And, if the directory allows you to have an author profile page with your link on it, that will count as another separate backlink. If you want to see how you're doing link-wise, Google "link:yourdomain.com". The results that show up are all your links. (or, you can simply check your website's stats. For example, Awstats will list all of your links)

You can submit your articles to tons of different directories without worrying about duplicate content. Duplicate content refers to content on your own site that's the same - like if you had 2 pages on your site that were identical, or a web page and a print-version page.

With article marketing, the goal is to get your content syndicated by as many places as possible. If your article shows up on 50 different sites, that's syndication, not duplicate content.

The only "issue" you face by submitting the same article to different directories is that many of your articles will show up in Google's supplemental index (what you see when you click on "click here to see other results that have been omitted") Google doesn't want to have search results that are all the same article - just on different websites. So, if you submit your article to 10 different directories, 9 of those will likely end up in the supplemental index - meaning only 1 of them will show up when someone Googles your keywords.

And, before you submit anything anywhere, be sure that you're following each directory's terms of service. Some of them explicitly state that the article you publish can't be published anywhere else first.

Just focus your efforts on creating great articles that other people will want to link to and syndicate. By getting your name, your link, and your expertise in as many places as possible, you can establish yourself as an expert. It does take time, though, so be patient!

Good luck! Yes, it's a sure one-way links if you submit your article to various article directories plus traffic to your site once the article starting to show in search engine. Quote: Originally Posted by blast204 Hey there,

(Just got into this and subscribed to UAW, so trying to make the most out of every article I submit) If I understand you correctly, you're asking if you submit to an article directory do you receive some page ranking from the link (If I got it incorrect, let me know).

A lot of directories have nofollow tags, meaning search engine bots will not pass any page ranking to your page through the link. You need to look and see.

As for duplicate content, as long as there is a link back to the original article (maybe
