Are these links followed by search engines?

When links are incorporated into a sites Web 2.0 Footer & Legal Container section of a webpage are the links here followed by spiders and if so do they give the same amount of link juice or is it minimized?

For example if you view the source page on a website - the page's content in the "Content Container" section of the source page....but are links in the other 2 sections followed as well? (Web 2.0 Footer & Legal Container)

Thanks! Being a web 2.0 website has nothing to do with it. If a link is visible to a search engine, most of the time that search engine is going to follow the link.

web 1 websites - static content that does not change.

web 2 websites - dynamic content that can be updated easily.

Web 1 and web 2 has nothing to do with the way links are handled.

Definitely very interesting.

Sorry if this is repetitive, but what about links that are hidden in drop-down menus?

Thanks again! Search engines follow a link where they see it. Footer, header, or in any kind of website Quote: Originally Posted by EWRE123 Sorry if this is repetitive, but what about links that are hidden in drop-down menus?

Thanks again! From my experience - yes, the search engines will follow links in drop down menus.

If you do not have one, I suggest you create a google webmaster tools account and a yahoo site explorer account. From there, play around with links to see how well the search engines can find them Oh okay, well great. Thanks for both of your responces they are much appreciated!

I do have google webmaster tools/yahoo explorer set up and have toyed with them but still trying to figure them out (expecially the google tool, as it is more involved than the yahoo site explorer).

They are definitely great tools and will continue to delve more into them to reep all their benefit. Thanks again!
