I'd like to have a very simple chat facility for an intranet page --chat/shoutbox/tagboard/whiteboard -- whatever you call it -- just for a few users, who can post links or messages. Can anyone give me some advice how to go about it? I'd rather keep it all 'in the family' and not subscribe to one of those free services, but I don't know anything about asp sql etc. So I was wondering if anyone knows any javascript, or perhaps a java applet that can do this sort of thing. <br />

they have some chat scripts but they are mainly for businesses setting up live support chats.<br />
if you want something like a message board, try phpBB. <br />
Of course, for both of these you will have to register some information. If these don't work, try searching Yahoo or Google for something. That is where I found these.<!--content-->
